The Cure Is – 4 Key Points from the Movie (Part Two)
Following on from yesterday’s post ‘The Cure Is – 4 Key Points from the Movie (Part One) << Click this link if you need to read the previous post…
We were up to Key Point number 3 :
Key Point number 3 – Our perceptions are the key to our health.
Back to talking about how our physical health is affected by our minds – in the movie, it is explained that the most significant factor that affects a cell is what is going on in the environment. Nature made genes adjustable in response to the environment, however, the thing here is that genes don’t directly read the environment. Between the environment and the cells is the nervous system (our perception) so we perceive our environment through our nervous system (sight, sound, taste, smell, touch and self talk) and this is congruent with the teachings of Neuro Linguistic Programming which is the basis for most of my coaching methods.
According to Greg Braden, there are two root emotions FEAR and LOVE and at the core of it, every other emotion can be drawn back to one of these. Now whether we experience either fear or love depends solely on our perception.
The brain releases the chemistry into the blood through our thoughts. When you open your eyes and you’re in LOVE, biologically you’re feeding the best nutrition to the cells possible. Dr Lipton claims that if he were to add the chemicals from negative thought patterns to his petree dish, his cells would ultimately die out in that cultured environment and if he were to add the chemicals from positive thought patterns, his cells would thrive. So what determines which of the chemicals are released into the system? Well, your thoughts and your beliefs!
Key Point number 4 – Our Health is at the detriment of our ‘Fight or Flight mode’ lifestyles.
When you look back in history, there were moments where humans were put into Fight or Flight mode. For example, an African in the middle of the jungle coming face to face with a lion and being put in the situation where they have to literally “run for their lives”. When this happens, we automatically go into “protection” mode. It is the fear, the adrenaline, the emotions that occur when a human is put into Fight or Flight mode that causes the person’s energy to be put towards the protection of your cells.
If you are in FEAR, – perpetual fear you use the energy you were using for the growth and health development of your cells for protection. You cannot sustain growth when you are permanently in protection mode. In the world of the past, we would just be in a fight or flight mode for a short period. In out world today, we are far too stressed – we were never designed to be in a compromised growth state for an extended period of time and that is why we have the state of health we are have today.
The movie also addresses nutrition, universal intelligence, our emotions, forgiveness, spirituality and a whole host of other topics.
Other key points were to:
- Focus on living and do what you love to do!!! It’s that simple
- Become Loving – Love yourself and Love others and use the power of that Love to make yourself better
