Earlier this year, I decided to follow the lead of two of my closest friends by diving head first into an Extreme Body Blitz challenge.
Leila, close family friend who I have known now for over 10years and her husband Brodie McLean had prior to this challenge just become Health and Fitness Consultants. I had seen the results that Leila had achieved in the first challenge which was held late in 2012 and knew that this was an opportunity NOT to be missed.
Why the Challenge?
I had never considered myself overweight and wasn’t concerned with losing weight as such but had always had the thought that I could be eating a lot healthier, feeling a lot more energised and getting more organised with meal preparation so these were my goals going into the challenge. Well, I achieved all of those goals and more, opening my eyes to a whole world of knowledge along the way and consequently learning a lot more than I ever expected!

Here are my Top Three Tips for creating your Best Body as I have learned from participating in the challenge:
Learn, Learn, Learn!
There is so much to learn when it comes to Nutrition planning, Training (in all it’s forms), Supplements, Vitamins, Body anatomy, Mindset, Motivation etc… and once you open your mind to receiving this information you’ll be on your way to achieving great things whatever your goals are. This means keeping your eyes, ears, heart and mind open to learning new things!
Get the support you need. Ask for help. Get involved. When you reach out to those people, companies, opportunities and resources that are out there waiting to take you on your health journey I can guarantee you’ll find it a far smoother ride. So start by connecting with an expert, trainer, nutritionist, consultant or other professional for advice and support.
Know your Outcome
I knew my outcome when I went into the 12 week challenge and so coming out the other end knowing that I had achieved all of that and more is all I could really ask for. If you step into something without a clear vision for what you want at the end, it is not only hard to find your way but it becomes nearly impossible to recognise when you are there because you don’t have a sign-post in mind that you are heading for.

“Champions were once contenders who never gave up!” This journey has been the biggest life-changing experience and greatest achievement in my life. After competing in the first MK Body Blitz Challenge which was the foundation and ultimate kick start to my health journey, I was certain that I had potential to continue on and fulfil my health goals to get fit, to build strength, to be fast and agile and to become a CHAMPION.Accepting the challenge to compete in the next MK Body Blitz was the best decision I had made towards my continuing health journey. It made me even more eager and determined to keep my head in the game, my eye on the prize and to WIN this competition for sure. This time round my “can do/will do” attitude took my training beyond my limits and expectations, and to keep the nutrition side strictly clean to become lean and MEAN.Consistency and creating “winning habits” is what lead me to my successful results today, and I am forever grateful to MK for providing me with the knowledge, advice and tools to get me here.With a whole new positive attitude and mindset, I pushed all excuses to the side and transformed them into solutions.TRAININGI have learnt so many valuable lessons with MK which has taught me to step out of my comfort zone and push myself to greater limits far beyond I ever thought impossible. I turned that impossible to “POSSIBLE” with belief systems. I also invested in myself the tools and facilities to help me perform the tasks in my health journey by having access to a gym and also booking in personal training sessions with only the best which were MK (Matt Kumeroa and Tee Richards) themselves.I went to the gym for a purpose – to train like a BEAST! To grill, skill and kill each workout by increasing that rep, that weight, that extra bit of something to improve myself day by day – meeting and beating my personal bests.NUTRITIONNutrition is EVERYTHING and has been the major key factor to my successful weight loss. MK made this part easy for me by setting my weekly meal plans and fuelling my body with the right foods. It was then up to me to follow the plan if I wanted that body I had always dreamed of. The winning habit here was being organised and prepared to ensure I had instant access to the foods stipulated on my plan and it was made a family ritual in our home to weigh, measure, chop and store our food accordingly.SUPPORT SYSTEMS
This journey would not have been possible without the help and support of my man and dedicating husband Brodie McLean. He too is also completing this challenge and what better way of achieving our personal goals together as a team. He believes that my drive, passion and motivation was contagious and inspired him to come aboard this journey not only to achieve his own personal health goals, but to also maintain this way of living for our family. This journey has also strengthened our relationship as a couple with the hope of making a future career in the health industry.
I cannot forget the wonderful support of our fellow MK Blitzer’s who were my main motivating factors. A truly inspirational bunch of competitors who are goal driven and determined to improve their lives both physically and mentally. These are the sorts of positive people I choose to surround myself with and stay connected to forever.
I am in the best shape I’ve ever been in my life! I have been strong, committed and determined throughout this challenge and the constant growth in my training and eating constitutes towards my results both visually and statistically through my weekly weigh in and measurements. With passion and pride and as a true believer of MK Nutrition Systems, I deserve to be the next MK Body Blitz Grand Champion.
My future in the health industry has begun. It is now time for BROLA (Brodie & Leila) to branch out and continue to inspire, motivate and encourage others to live their dreams and to transform their minds, bodies and souls forever….MK ALL DAY ERR DAY….LES DOOZ IT!!
