Today we’re talking about outsourcing. If you’re feeling stuck because there is absolutely so much to do, or you may feel like you’re doing all of the jobs that you perhaps shouldn’t be spending your time doing, then this post is for you.
First up, head over to read a blog post entitled ‘Why you should hire for growth and your long term vision‘ written by Natalie Sisson as a part of the Suitcase Entrepreneur 30 Day Blog challenge. This post links to a great video podcast that Natalie did with her friend and fellow Entrepreneur Chris Ducker. I’ve just finished watching it and picked up some golden nuggets of information but one of the best bits was the 3 Lists to Freedom which goes a little bit like this :
The 3 Lists to Freedom (from Chris Ducker & Natalie Sisson)
Get a piece of paper. Draw down 2 lines. Create 3 columns.
- First list is a list of all of the things that you don’t like doing.
- The second list is a list of all of the things that you feel like you can’t do yourself.
- The third list (the most important!) is a list of things that you feel as the business owner that you shouldn’t be doing.
Use these lists to create a master task list of things that need to be outsourced in your business. This is a great place to start – it’s like a brain dump of ideas and you can go from there with finding people to complete these tasks for you.
In the video podcast mentioned above, Chris describes what to do from here, once you’ve got this starter list and goes into the service he provides through his business Virtual Staff Finder – there is a lot of juicy information in this video so definitely, if you are interested in this, head over there now to watch!
So hopefully, you’ve got a bit of a starting point here for figuring out how to build a team around you. Follow through on the links to get all of the information and then sit down and ask yourself : Are you working in your business or on your business? How are YOU going to build a team around you.
