Today I’m starting the Suitcase Entrepreneur 30 Day Blog Challenge.
I stumbled upon it just yesterday and spent some time familiarising myself with how it worked. I decided nearly immediately that this was for me! So here goes! Day One is basically where we look back at Why I started this blog and Who I want to reach.
Read on to find out my answers…
Why I started this blog?
Well, to be honest this blog has been a journey in itself. It’s almost as if it’s as ever changing as I am! I started my first website in 2009, in conjunction with my Life Coaching business. I had been on a journey of Self Development for about a year or so prior to this when I discovered the Christopher Howard Training Company and was absolutely hooked on the idea of helping other people to reach their goals, live out their dreams and be the very best that they can be. At this time, I gained International Certification in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and re-enrolled at University to complete a Graduate Diploma in Human Development in order to ramp up my confidence in the area of Coaching and jumped head first in coaching people one on one.
The website started mainly as sort of a digital brochure for the Coaching products and services that I was offering from my office in the city centre of Hamilton as do most websites for brick and mortar businesses. However over time, the focus of my business has been further refined from helping anybody and everybody to reach their life goals to assisting Home based Entrepreneurs to create Wealth Online through mindset strategies and online marketing techniques. This change in focus happened mainly because of the huge demand I could see for information and coaching specifically on wealth creation as well as the extreme potential I could see in utilising the Internet to build your business. Of course tying these two aspects in with my passion for leadership development, communication and coaching was also a must!
Who do I want to reach?
In line with the new focus of my business, I aim to reach Home based business Entrepreneurs. People who are building a business online and are looking for assistance – Tips, Tricks, Techniques / Ideas / Guidance or even if you’re just wanting to follow the journey.
I’m on a journey myself! For me it’s about learning and implementing, growing, listening to feedback, tweaking and adjusting and then starting again… learning, implementing, growing, listening to feedback, tweaking, adjusting and starting again.
Having started out not knowing anything about how to create a website with zero customers and no following on the Internet to now having :
- Created a professional online presence for myself that is congruent with my business vision
- Launched and profited from my first digital product launch
- Built and maintained my blog over the past year and a half
- Grown my email list from 0 to over 100 subscribers in less than 3 months
- Built my social media following from 0 to over 800 on Facebook and over 8000 on Twitter
I know that there is valuable information I can share with others in my industry.
So my aim is to attract others on a similar journey who will take value from the progress I have already made or the progress I am currently making and want to join with me on my quest to create a life in harmony with my biggest dreams and desires. I hope that I can help guide and inspire others to do the same for themselves.
Why I joined this blog challenge and what I want to get out of it?
I joined this blog challenge because as an Internet Entrepreneur, and a Home Based Internet Entrepreneur at that, I know how hard it can be to maintain consistency. I really thrive on being accountable and on competing in challenges and working within a community so I know that this challenge will help me to enforce a routine of writing my blog regularly.
Furthermore, I am grateful for the structure of this blog challenge and the way it revolves around teaching us how to create a Suitcase Entrepreneur lifestyle for ourselves so I have set a goal to have a second digital product (or a service I can sell on my website) all brainstormed, mapped out and ready to go!
If you are in a similar situation to me or if you’d just like to do the blog challenge for fun, click here it’s never too late really!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on my post.
